Collecting accurate downhole pressure and temperature data during nitrogen lifting operations is crucial for evaluating the production potential of exploration wells and improving technical decision-making. This data, deliver an insight of the well flow regime and condition to test engineers. In exploration wells, Downhole pressure and temperature are normally accessible after DST tools are out of the hole. Thus, in well condition, where due to low reservoir potential even by reducing well column static pressure by pumping of Nitrogen, well effluents are not reachable to surface and we can not record any well head data. To overcome the common challenges of obtaining this data before completing DST operations, Petro Danial Kish , in collaboration with NIOC Exploration, has developed an innovative solution. This approach involves: • Selecting a suitable Memory Gauge and designing and manufacturing a new Gauge Carrier. • Developing a special adapter to enable simultaneous nitrogen pumping and downhole pressure data recording.
🔹 This method was successfully implemented for the first time in an exploration well in southwest Iran and was validated by the client. It has now been incorporated as a standard process in other operations. The attached graph illustrates the recorded downhole pressure and temperature variations during the operation. These real-time insights empower petroleum engineers to identify issues quickly, optimize workflows, and make informed operational decisions. At Petro Danial Kish, we are committed to driving innovation and enhancing operational efficiency in the oil and gas industry.
